The author of this paper is writing to teach the reader about the history of rock and roll in the 1980s. This paper will go through some of the influences and some of the different styles along with a couple other things about how rock and roll became rock and roll in the 80s.
Rock music came from many different types of African American and white music styles. Mainly getting its influence from certain types of gospel, country western and even some types of jazz. Along with this a vast majority of rock music’s influence came from crooners and harmony groups in 1950s. While this type of music was originally referred to as rock and roll it was later changed to just rock music.

Rock music’s greatest achievement was that king of Rock and Roll himself Elvis Presley who while making music that most everybody loved the way that he danced and moved while singing his songs went over pretty well with the youth it didn’t settle over so easily with older people at the time the way he danced wasn’t even allowed to be shown on television for a period of time but this would change later as Elvis went on to make many …show more content…

This type of music was more elegant and focused on telling a story in the lyrics that they sang so you could feel like you were read more of a storybook. Many people say that this was a good thing for rock music because not only was this a new type of rock to listen to and experiment a little bit with and it wasn’t as gusty or rebellious as rock was in the past so everyone could enjoy it. This type of music also introduces a thing called “back up groups which added more harmony to the music they sang”.
After the British invasion which brought over bands like the Beatles who were focused more on the individual listening to the music instead of a select audience. Rock music’s popularity sparked off many more bands such as the Rolling Stones whose rock style was derived from the black blues tradition. These bands that were sparked off along with many other rock bands make what people call the return of more of a blues style of rock and roll.
