There are many different books in the world on any topic we want. As for me, I really like books about an imaginary future this genre is called a dystopia. It is interesting for me to find connections with the past and the present. Recently, I stumbled upon about the book "1984" by George Orwell and I decided to share my opinion about this book with others by writing a review of this book. The real name of the author is Eric Arthur Blair. "1984" is a pretty old literary work, and there are lots of different reviews about this book, but in my opinion, this work is still worthy of the attention in spite of the huge amount of criticism. The name of the novel comes from the year of writing (1948), but George Orwell decided to permute the last two …show more content…
Despite the fact that this book was written in 1948, some facts remain me the true in our time. For example, at the end of the second part, Winston realize that a society has three layers. First, is the Top layer, usually it is very reach people and those who works in the government. Second, is Middle layer. People who lives a normal live, they have a good work, food, comply with the laws. The last one, is Lover layer. Usually such people are poor, work in dangerous and difficult jobs. We can find this fact in the text, when the protagonist found Goldstein's book. Also, in this book was written that people from Top layer are hindering the human development by wars. Emmanuel Goldstein, says that the main idea of the consignment is to destroy the freedom of thought. In my opinion, there is some true in this words. War may occur anywhere and without any reason. Some countries are getting poorer and some get a benefit from it. As for me, George Orwell has a perfect literature style of writing that makes a big influence on the reader, he compares the incomparable. It is called "Doublethink". It is true that people lived badly during and after the World War II. Many countries were destroyed and the life there were not so easy. George Orwell shows the Oceania's state like a "monster" who is trying to control everything and everyone to develop a powerful society. From my point of view, comparing to the Soviet Union this statement is unsuitable. Because at the time, the government had no other choice other than the totalitarian regime. The state had to raise so large country almost from scratch. Because the Soviet Union was almost destroyed during the War. All aspect of life were on the lowest level, such as the economy, education, science and agriculture. People were working really hard, almost without weekends and for ten hours per day. The society realised the reasons for such difficulties and they understand that it was necessary. That is why nobody was indignant about
