Serial, a weekly podcast, revisits the 1999 murder case of Hae Min Lee, a senior at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, and her former boyfriend convicted of the crime, Adnan Syed. In the United States, the law says that someone is innocent until proven guilty and with certain evidence presented in the podcast, Adnan is far from guilty. Serial brings to light new evidence that could answer the question of Adnan Syed’s wrongful imprisonment. With the inconsistency of Jay Wilds incriminating testimony, the irrational judgments by the police based on behavior and the possibility of the involvement of corrupt detectives, newly gathered evidence could prove that Adnan Syed is innocent.

Hae’s friend Aisha said that she was paging her like crazy.” (Source A) This behavior exhibited by Adnan at the time of Hae's disappearance cannot determine whether Adnan is guilty of the crime, however many try to link the two together. This is like saying because someone didn’t cry at a funeral, they killed the person. Unlike Hae's other friends and family, who were constantly attempting to contact her, Adnan didn't respond in the same way and just acted nonchalantly and tried to avoid the police. The police say that he didn't attempt to contact Hae because he already knew where she was—lying dead in a shallow grave. However, Adnan assumed—along with others—that Hae was in California with her father. If this was a sign of his guilt, then Hae's current boyfriend of that time, Don, would also be guilty because he also didn’t page her after she’d gone
