Throughout history, there were many successful industrialists who came and changed the course of things. Industry became a part of the society and changed the way people live and made some new advancement which made the life of the people easier. Some wealthy individuals arise to the top by making contributions to the society and opening their own business’s to benefit the whole society. Rockefeller. John Rockefeller controlled most of the nation’s oil business. His company was called Standard Oil which he opened up along with his partner Henry Flagler. He used legal ways to make his own wealth. In 19th century many things depended on oil including the railroads. He also started a trust movement which resulted in the growth of industry during the 19th century. He started foundations that had major effects on medicine, education, and scientific research. He also gave a huge part of his life earnings away. As his wealth grew so did his giving and soon he became the defined structure of modern philanthropy.
