Humans and the Deep Sea Essay The deep sea and humans have always had a complex and mixed relationship with one another. Humans have been curious about the sea for many centuries. Throughout history, they have tried to explain the secrets of the sea with myths and legends. This complicated relationship between the sea and humans is shown in the play, Into The Deep by Spencer Kayden, based off the novel, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. Also it is based off the informational text, What’s Down There? by Mackenzie Carro. These stories help to reveal the relationship humans have with the sea. The first step towards understanding the mixed relationship humans have with the sea, is partly to know the history of what humans believed
