This is my 2022-2023 cadet essay for JROTC. Some things in JROTC can be improved, and I will be covering the ideas and initiatives I will take. JROTC is a wonderful and exciting program, but no program can be perfect and that’s ok! But just like any program, we can work to ensure that our cadets have a safe and comfortable time. Let’s start with my first idea. The number of community things we participate in. Now, while we do a ton of big trips, starting with Tunnels to Towers, we should also participate in smaller community events. JROTC is a bigger team than it looks, and more funding would benefit us. It would go to uniforms, equipment, and more. And while JROTC is a team itself, there is a decent amount of smaller teams within it, like robotics, raiders, drill, color guard, etc. And those are fundamental parts of our JROTC community, so not only does JROTC need funding in itself, but also the teams inside it. With more funding, we could expand the limits of our teams and their equipment. For example, robotics. With more funding, the robotics team could create extraordinary contraptions, and we know that that could cost quite a lot of money. And with greater funding, we could purchase better-quality uniforms for our cadets. An important feature of JROTC is about looking uniform and standard. With better uniforms, we could be comfortable while wearing them, and we would look more professional. This is important to me because I’ve realized that many cadets find issues with uniforms, some shirts being too big to wear even in the smallest size, or shoes slipping off in the back while being tight in front, and I want to make sure that every cadet is taken into consideration, even when it comes to
