The twenties seemed like a pretty great time period to live in. Well based on all the facts that I’ve gathered. I hope you see my reasons why the 20’s were so great and hopefully come to see my view that it was one of the best decades so far. The twenties were filled with many new ideas and inventions. Hopefully you see all the great things about this decade and what it really brought to American culture. This time period wasn’t just about partying and shorter clothing. There were social and economic differences in society. During this period, America had become the wealthiest country. This is often overlooked because of other things that were happening in this decade, the prohibition, jazz and the Klu Klux Klan. People went to the movies, outdoor sporting events, listened to the radio and drove around in their vehicles. Stars rose to fame in this decade like Babe Ruth, Charlie Chaplin and Gloria Swanson. This was a new period where social media became very big magazines like Time, Life, and Vogue were being published and we still have them today. Dance halls were created, a place where everyone could go and have fun, dance and hang out. Also talkies had finally made an appearance, (motion pictures with synchronized sound). Then there were new dances and some were even based off of African American beats. The new dances had a large influence on the music of this time, new dances such as the famous Charleston and the American tango were invented.
