Songs come in a variety of genres with different messages. These messages sometimes talk about: love, money, death, racism. war, and equality. Some artists choose to describe their hope for the future. Describing how unity and love can change the world for the better. “Ghetto Gospel” by 2Pac and “One Day” by Matsiyahu both use optimism to describe their vision for world peace. “Ghetto Gospel” by 2Pac uses the example of violence in the “Ghetto” as a way to set the stage for world peace. The song talks about 2Pac’s observations of the youth and the state of the world they inherited. Giving examples of the types of people there is around them and the living conditions they’re living in. The song starts off with 2Pac’s feelings toward the youth and how he feels everyone is ashamed of the youth due to them looking “Strange” he describes the type of world that they were born in by saying, “We left em a world that's cursed/ And it hurts/ Cause any day they'll push the button/ And all come in like Malcolm X or Bobby Hutton died for nothing/ Don't it make you get teary/ The world looks dreary” 2Pac then describes how the world can focus so much of the exterior of a person and choose to make certain assumptions about people. 2Pac does this by describing his process for writing his songs and saying that God is the one responsible for writing his music. He says “That God isn't finished with me yet/ I feel his hand on my brain/ When I write rhymes I go blind and let the Lord do his thing” And therefore his solution to having world peace comes in the form of helping the ones in the ghetto and ending all the violence there in order to take that bigger step.
