In the 5th century, Athens was at its golden age. Sculpting, philosophy, architecture, drama, etc, all reached new and exciting peaks. Athens was very successful from 480 BC to 430 BC, with the help of Pericles. In the film they pointed out that the gods were also important aspects of
Athenian life, like Athena she was the daughter of Zeus, and a Greek goddess of wisdom, war and peace. They believed that she could help them achieve the level of excellence they strove for. The Greeks also had a lot in common with the other cultures like Rome and China. In the film they also said that the Athens were very big on sports. The Olympics were serious competitions where the male athletes represented there city while they competed against others. The

In Greece, they did not allow women to possess any rights to becoming a citizen. The highest regard they could get was being the wife of a citizen, but in Rome women and men over 15 were considered citizen only if they had Roman decedents. Women were not allowed to vote or hold any political power.
The Greeks and the Chinese had something’s in common, like the lack of respect they had for women. They both gave little rights to women and they thought that men were the best and women were nothing. They also look down on women and thought that women should stay home and do work around the house, cook, and care for the children. Women were also not allowed to leave their homes without having a male figure with them, usually their husband.
Greece and China were also different in which, Greece was surrounded by the Mediterranean
Sea, so they usually traded by ocean. For China, they basically had a trading empire called the
Silk Road which expanded across many different countries.
The Greeks, Romans and Chinese cultures are all different from each other, each of them have different beliefs but they also have some similarities with each other
