When most think of the rambunctious rap group from that came straight out of the 1980’s, they think about girls, partying, crude humor and maybe some music in between. Although The Beastie Boys as a group did a few things that had never been done before in music history. Thats pretty incredible considering nobody expected something so revolutionary to come from three middle class white jewish kids from New York.

Outliving the Dirt Imagine waking up every day to a blizzard of dirt that gets into everything. To survive the Dirty Thirties farmers had to have grit and be hardworking. Families needed to dig deep to endure the constant hardships they faced.
1960s was a time of change. Martin Luther King Jjr. and Malcolm X are two of the most influential people during that time, both fighting for Civil Rights in the 1960s.. Though they were fighting for the same goal of equal rights for all, the two men did it in different ways, focusing on different aspects of the movement. MLK, who had come from a well off home in Atlanta, Georgia, fought for Civil Rights focussing on the political side of the movement, with peaceful protests.
Since early ages, mothers have always criticized the ways their daughters acted. In the 1920s criticisms were taken a step further by the flappers, who completely revolutionized the view on females. Flappers in the 1920s had an impact on women for the future. Who they were, what they wore, and what their morals were was how their impacts changed the future for all the females. “The term "flapper" originated in the 1920s and refers to the fashion trend for unfastened rubber galoshes that "flapped" when walking, an attribution reinforced by the image of the free-wheeling flapper in popular culture.”
There were many mediums that influenced the American society like music, television, and movies for entertainment for the people. Because of this, the generation gap between adults and kids grew larger and larger. Parents and adults favored contemporary music while teenagers likes hard rock. In addition, many musicians and bands became known in the 1980s like the Cure, Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, A-ha, and Madonna. There were many popular activities and dances that sparked in this decade like Running Man, the Worm, and the Robot.
Queen, not only a famous woman who rules over England, but a British rock band who were very popular in the 1970’s. For over twenty years, Queen has inspired many singers and songwriters with the way they have created their own style in the music industry. Their most popular songs like; “We Will Rock You”, “Somebody To Love”, Bohemian Rhapsody”, and many others have gotten high ratings all across the world. First let’s go all the way back to 1967, when Brian May, Roger Taylor and Tim Taffell joined together to start the band off. When Tim Taffell wanted to pursue a solo career, Freddie Mercury joined the band and then later-on John Deacon.
The 1990’s was arguably the greatest decade for the music scene. This decade encountered the rise of the best musical artists and bands of all time. The music from this time was highly thought of because most bands were bringing back the rock and roll sound everyone loved from the late 60’s and 70’s. The band that really brought this sound back for generations to come was Nirvana. The band Nirvana wasn 't just considered to be rock and roll, their music could fall under several off branches of rock and that 's what made them the best.
Which Decade Is The Best? The 1980s was a decade of variety, change, politics, and economic growth. The decade that had the most significant impact on our society today. Fashion to music, politics to innovation, and cultural transformation. These are some of the many reasons why the 1980s was the best decade.
The Beatles have been revolutionizing music since the time they wrote their first song to the modern sound of the twenty first century. “Through ceaseless inventiveness, The Beatles set musical trends that are still being followed,” (Dempsey). Bands, like Oasis, have credited The Beatles to impacting several of their songs. By being the most successful songwriters of their age, it is no surprise that their style is influencing music to this extent. The Beatles have become one of the most influential bands through their musical innovation.
Countless people evaluate their life and wish they had the chance to grow up in a different era or decade. An era like The Great Gatsby, everything so grand and luxurious, or a decade like the 50s, when teenagers hung out at the local diner and drove in vintage (vocab word) cars. Nevertheless, nobody gets to choose when they are born. Growing up in any decade, all children experience similar occurrences such as puberty, relationships, and finding themselves; however, growing up in the 80s is vastly different than growing up in today’s world but they both face distinct challenges. When most people think of the 80s, they think of vibrant fashion, upbeat music, and the popular video game Pacman.
Punk had a significant impact on people and music during this time. Punk was first largely introduced in England in the 1960’s and then came to America and became a larger scene during the 1970’s. At first, punk wasn’t considered a real genre and it wasn 't’ acceptable music for the youth to listen to. It took years for punk to be considered at real music genre. As time progressed during the 70’s, punk became a larger and larger scene and became a very popular scene to be a part of if you wanted to be yourself.
A golden age is a period of time when an empire thrives. It thrives socially, economically, and politically. Both Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome experienced a golden age. Ancient Rome’s Golden Age was called the Pax Romana. Pax Romana means “roman peace”.
