Racism is defined as discrimination or prejudice based on race. In the past and present racism was main part of most of the war this country is and was in. These consist of the Civil War, Holocaust, and the racism after 9/11. Nobody can feel what racism is if it 's doesn 't happen to him/her. Me I do, I have a story with racism feeling. After 9/11 things became very hard on the Muslim community especially in America. The events of 9/11 in the United States have resulted in enormous changes with many of the most significant changes relating to airport security which is now much more onerous worldwide.
My first experience with racism was in a young age. I was 15 years old. My older sister and I had to take a plane to Syria since it was a chaos in MN. Going to the plane first we went thru security, but before we reached the conveyor belt, a very tall woman (over 6 feet), dressed in TSA uniform, ran up to us and said to my sister “ma’am, I need you to remove your headscarf”. My sister looked up at her, and stared at her straight in her pupils and said to her, “no, I will not remove my head scarf

On the other side, the same 6ft tall TSA woman was waiting. She asked me step over to the side for a public full body pat down as my daughter and four TSA men stood within feet of me and watched. What bothered me the most was not what was happening to my sister but how everyone else looked satisfied with what the TSA woman was doing to us. Along the back wall, our luggage was going thru its own security check. For what, you ask? For Bomb Making Materials. Our cloths, books, gifts to our family back in Syria and every item in our luggage was unpacked and swiped in an attempt to detect any bomb making substances and all because we’re faithfully observing the modest dress of our faith; the very same dress is observed by nuns and the mother of Jesus, the Virgin
