Dragging himself towards home, Mike was exhausted. The sun had disappeared behind the houses, coloring the sky in shades of pink. Mike was coming home from his friend’s house. As he was slowly moving across the sidewalk, a UPS truck turned onto his street from behind him. Confused, Mike continued his route home, pondering about the truck. Generally, the UPS trucks came Tuesdays and Thursdays, but today was a Wednesday. The truck drove by him and stopped a block in front on Mike. A darkly dressed man got out of the truck with a red bag slung across his shoulder. After looking both ways, the mailman crossed the deserted street. Upon reaching the other side, he checked around him and turned a corner. Surprising. This neighborhood had super mailboxes - one common metal box holding everyone’s mail - and it wasn’t on the mailman’s side of the road. So what was the mailman doing with that mail? Being the only one in the house was less amazing then it sounded: No one to talk made him depressed. After climbing all 15 creaky stairs, he arrived at his tiny bedroom. Mike pulled himself towards his queen-sized bed and dived on to it. The day was all the same: Wake up; go to school; come home; go to sleep. Staring at the ceiling fan, Mike pondered about the suspicious mail man. These actions didn’t seem like a coincidence or accident to Mike. The UPS truck was still there - parked a block from his house. This sent a chill down his spine, despite the several blankets trying to keep him warm.
