The first NFL draft was in 1936. This is 78 years of teams looking for game changing players. A lot quarterbacks were drafted during this time and some have become record breaking hall of famers and others are miserable failures. Organizations take a stab every year at trying to find their next franchise player who will take them to new heights of NFL greatness and throughout the history of the NFL no two quarterbacks have so much in common more than Tom Brady and Joe Montana. Tom Brady and Joe Montana have honed their skills and mastered the art of football to become two of the best NFL quarterbacks history has ever seen. After graduating Brady passed up the chance to play professional baseball and instead went to college to play football at University of Michigan. He made the school's football team but Brady did not spend much time on the field in his first two college seasons. In his junior year he had to fight to stay on the field with Freshman QB Brian Griese and as the starting quarterback Brady had mild success leading several unlikely comebacks to finally win the job and in his final season he lead his team to a win in the Orange Bowl in 2000. Brady was overlooked by teams despite his performance in the Orange bowl but he was finally drafted by the New England Patriots In the 6th Round at pick 199. Tom served as a backup quarterback and played in only one game in his first season. The 2001 season was a very different story, after starting quarterback Drew Bledsoe got hurt, Brady took over and never looked back. He proved to be a good leader with the ability to make those around him better. In the post season Brady had very solid performances and in the Super Bowl he led a dramatic drive at the end of the game which helped the Patriots secure a win over the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI. He won the Super Bowl MVP for his performance. He went on to win two more Super Bowls in 2003 and 2004 and from 2004 to now he has accumulated a myriad of awards and records including Season MVP’s touchdown records and yards and leading the record breaking 2007 team which had an 18-1
