DOB: Erica. Oct 12, 1990 Diagnosis: Diagnosis: Mild Developmental Disability, FASD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder; Depression; recently diagnosed with Leukemia . Update: Erica Diagnosed with Leukemia and she is in hospital since February 2023. She needs to be in the hospital for another 28 days and will be discharged by end of April. Erica is 18-year-old young girl who resides with her paternal aunt and uncle and her paternal aunt and uncle, with her niece, male cousin and his girlfriend in Okotoks, Alberta. Erica is a very happy, polite and well-mannered young girl. She likes to color, and do diamond art paintings for hours. Enjoys getting her nails done. Child and Family Services Authority first removed her from the family home when she was a baby and she lived in a foster home until she was aged three when the Authority returned her to the family home. Her parents were physically and emotionally abusive to each other, and most likely Erica and this negatively affected Erica’s wellbeing. Erica’s father died of liver and pancreatic cancer when she was 13. Her mother could not take care of Erica and Erica’s mom moved to Ontario with her Boyfriend . Shortly thereafter, Erica moved to Okotoks to live with her aunt and uncle. Erica is estranged from her mother, and they have not spoken in more than 5 years. Eric was taken out of regular school in grade 10 due to many unexcused absences when she attended in-person schooling. Erica aunt mentioned that Erica had frequent interpersonal difficulties, and had frequent episodes of significant behaviour problems when she went to school in RedDeer. Erica’s aunt said that she also exhibited problematic behaviour requiring intervention and was suspended when she was in school in Reddeer .She switched to homeschooling as she was skipping school ,smoking marijuana and feeling depressed. But gradually she quit home schooling as well . Erica has anxiety and depression and struggles with change. No longer uses tobacco, drugs or alcohol, her aunt made her stop.
