Christianity, it’s beginning, practices, beliefs, or definition, though interesting remain challenging for any one individual to comprehend. Some of the methods individuals utilize to foster Christianity include its creation, intervention, and development. Moreover, the development of Christianity by individuals which has continued for centuries further complicate matters. He chose this controversial topic to explain just how some interpreted past ideologies and arrived at their answers with some being selective in the process. The book is intended to reach individuals who are interested in History, Religion, Christianity or anyone for that matter. Fea focuses on illustrating the main points made by both sides of the argument by utilizing many primary sources. For example, Fea incorporated Federalist papers, and letters by some of the founding fathers to name a few. People, society, and the government remain divided amid the answer to his title with some adamantly defending America was founded as a Christian Nation and others adamantly rejecting this proposal. In writing this work, Fea challenges his readers of the title of his book by presenting many interpretations. Through these interpretations, Fea demonstrates how there is no one right answer to the question. While Fea himself does not answer the question of his title, this remains significant because it proves no side can be right nor wrong in their interpretation of the Christian establishment in America. Some will agree with his points while others will not. Either way, Fea skillfully presented supporting evidence to his point. The most important evidence Fea provided lies within the astounding details of the primary source documents that he incorporated throughout his text. Additionally, he presented the arguments of the differing views of the sources in question. He interwove his sources that would convince some to at minimum understand each sides view. The evidence he introduces is valid and appears plentiful at least for one to challenge their own thought on the topic. Moreover, Fea explains how at times it was “quite common for biblical themes to become intertwined with politics”. Overall, Fea introduces several ideas or interpretations from the periods he discusses and with each one can understand why this remains at the heart of debates concerning Christianity and
