Gone are the days of small, simple medical laboratories. Located just behind the scenes of direct patient care, there are countless healthcare professionals working around the clock in order to provide patients and clinicians with critical diagnostic and prognostic information. Found in the dungeons of the hospital, there are a variety of specialties comprising laboratory medical sciences: Chemistry, Blood Bank, Cytology, Microbiology, and Surgical Pathology. These are just a few of the departments that are growing rapidly due to the demand of the population and evolving overnight with developments in technology. With all of the advancements ranging from microscopic stains to complex equipment, these fields need leaders that not only are familiar with the intricacies of laboratory medicine, but leaders who are well versed in running the
I’m Melanie Lint from Johnstown, Pennsylvania and I’m writing to you because I am interested in playing softball at Virginia Tech. Not only am I interested in your excellent softball team, I am also interested in your advanced Pre-Veterinary program. While viewing your college page and softball stats, I’ve noticed that one of your pitchers will have graduated by my graduating year, and the other will be a senior. You built the program up so much since you got hired in 1995 and I would love to be part of it.

A good veterinarian attends to each dog giving them proper annual physical examines and provide a truthful assessment of the dogs health It is not only crucial that these dogs receive physical demand but it is important that the owner convey information in a way the handler can comprehend. After reading this chapter, another perfect job that I think not only dog but other animals could do is become psychiatrists. Some dogs are mean to become firefighter, the others are longed to become policemen best pal but some are just able to help other by appear and being there for people in need. Therapy dogs are dogs who go with their owners from working with a child who is learning to read to visiting a senior in assisted living, therapy dogs and their owners always work together as a team to improve the lives of other people. I always know that dogs are really easy to talk to because first of all, they won’t judge you and second of all, they always listen to your trouble and last but not least is their cuteness. Therapy dogs can also help people recover more quickly by working as AAT (Animal-assisted therapy) dogs with their human partners and because therapy dogs are not service dogs, they require other special trainings and don have the same special access as service dog.
I’m looking forward to extend my love for animals to help others with their animal medical needs. My career choice of becoming a Veterinary Technician is to promote good animal health. I want to work in a career which makes me fulfilled professionally and also where there is an opportunity for advancement. This profession will give me the opportunity to provide services to the community. I understand the deep feelings that pet owners have for their pets, therefore I want to do my best to provide good medical care for their pets and help
The profession I have chosen to pursue is that of a Physician Assistant. My reason for this selection is because it gives you the independency of a Physician while having somewhat less responsibilities. A Physician Assistant provides healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician. Some of these services include but are not limited to examining and treating patients, diagnosing illnesses and counseling patients. In some case physician assistants are also tasked to prescribe medicine to patients.
I always serve my community in any way possible. I am always a good leader for groups, sports, etc., I always welcome new ideas even if
Anatole France, a French poet, journalist, and novelist, once said, “It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal. Until one has loved an animal, part of one’s soul remains unawakened”. Animals in general are very important to the human race. More specifically, dogs are very beneficial to us and that is why they are often called 'man's best friend’. They are friendly and loyal.
What is a Physician Assistant? As a relatively new field of practice, this answer is often asked. Physician Assistants are also known as PAs. They practice medicine on a team all under the supervision of a doctor. The name is largely a misnomer as physician assistants are much more than mere “assistants”.
In addition to my desire to help others, I am
I began my undergraduate education at Colorado State University in 2004. I declared my major as Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. At this point in my life, I had no clue what I wanted to do for my career and thought this would be the best option and give me the most diversity of career options. Going into my sophomore year, I began a job in the emergency department at the hospital located in the college town. During my first day, I got to see a variety of emergent and non-emergent medical procedures.
Working in different settings and meeting new people that need to be taken care of has always interested me. The job I want to have while I go to college is the very challenging role of a Medical Assistant. Due to the experiences that have happened in my life, I believe that becoming a medical assistant is the best career choice for me. There are many duties and responsibilities I will have as a medical assistant.
Millions of lives just as innocent as the most generous child; Trapped in the barriers we know as cages, that they know as Hell; Too many lives for humanity to just be a bystander. Each and every day is filled with a million moments and opportunities for us to take a stand and make a change. Animal shelters around the world are constantly filling with new animals; it is simply too much for the small amounts of staff on their own to make sure every animal gets the love they deserve, as well as making sure the shelter is kept tidy and operating. Animal shelters need us, young and old, even if only for an hour. That small span of time can make the world for them; volunteering assures that animals will get daily love, lowers full-time staff stress,
I intend on being more than a dog and cat veterinarian; I desire to help those animals, along with others, such as those found on farms, in zoos, or even in wildlife sanctuaries. I also want to do more than just serve animals; I want to change the veterinary medicine field by creating new and more effective medicines and curing diseases and disorders that are uncured in today’s world. Once I become very successful and financially stable, I would like to help up and coming veterinarians like myself. I want to create my own non-profit organization dedicating to helping those ambitious and creative kids support their dreams financially, and obtain mentors and job shadowing opportunities to encourage them and properly prepare them for their future careers. By doing these things, I would change the lives of both animals and humans; animals, by making state of the art changes and discoveries, and humans, by supplementing their already solid passion in veterinary
