The last point of view is full acceptance. This stance asserts that all homosexuals deserve the same rights as heterosexuals. They are entitled to same-sex marriage and cannot be punished for their acts. The idea behind this belief is that homosexuality should not be considered a sin because all lives were created by God, therefore, he created them for who they are. A person should not be criminalized due to their way of living life. People should be given the option to love and marry whoever they want. This right should not be taken away from anybody. The Christian religion states that though homosexuality is deemed as a sin, the “sinner” (in this case, a homosexual) should still be loved and respected. In the Bible, the Old Testament directly defiles homosexuality in Leviticus 18.22, “You must not have sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman; it is a detestable act.” The Christian religion teaches its followers that they are all sinners, therefore, no one is less (or more) worthy of God’s love. In 1 John 1.8 it states, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” It is also written in the Bible thou shall not judge in Matthew 7. 1-4: “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgement you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” Essentially, as stated earlier, the Christian faith believes that everyone is a sinner, therefore, incapable of judging those around them.
