After the Ghosts of Past, Present and Future visited, it is evident that their teachings educated Scrooge, like a hammer recreating a crocked sword on an anvil. The novel described the ghosts thoroughly, using words to visualize and help us fantasize what the spirits are and how they change Scrooge. For example The Ghost of Past took advantage of Scrooge's remorse, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come used Scrooge's fear. And it is this process that helped us fully understand why did Scrooge become a helpful angel after his visits. For example during the last ghost's visit, the women and men's thievery disgusted Scrooge and he worried about who the rich man was, and the ghost wasn't depicted as a evil fellow but as a helpful teacher.

The musical opens up with an army scene on Christmas Eve. All of the soldiers are attempting to get in the holiday spirit, but especially Bob Wallace and Phil Davis. These guys are the life of the party. They performed for all of the other soldiers by singing different holiday songs as they wore their Santa hats, and bells around their neck.
The Christmas Carol is a great and popular story, people have made movies and plays about it, though the play can be more accurate. The movies can be very accurate to the actual story. Although it is not a very long play there are many different things going on. The story overall has a great message to it. As in, never say that Christmas lame or not worth it.

On Saturday, November 11, I attended a performance of Cabaret at Dutchess Community College. This musical is set in Berlin, 1931 Germany pre World War I as the Nazis are rising to power. It takes place in a nightclub, the Kit Kat Klub and revolves around an American writer named Cliff Bradshaw and his relationship with an English cabaret performer, Sally Bowles. The cast features six major characters: Sally Bowles, the headlining British singer at the Kit Kat Klub, the Emcee, or the Master of Ceremonies of the Kit Kat Klub, who is extremely leering and flamboyant, Cliff Bradshaw, an American writer traveling through Berlin, Fräulein Schneider, an older woman who runs the apartment building where Cliff and Sally live, Herr Schultz, an older Jewish shop owner who falls in love with Fräulein Schneider and Ernst Ludwig, a German man who befriends Cliff and is later revealed to be a Nazi (Miller). The musical featured music by John Kander, directed by Hal Prince, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Joe Masteroff.
When Scrooge sees the Ghost, he is scared by its frightening appearance, but he knows that the Spirit’s lessons are important. He says, “ ‘But as I know your purpose is to do me good, and as I hope to live to be another man from what I was, I am prepared to bear you company, and do it with a thankful heart’ ” (Dickens 2).
