The late Hawking, who previously appeared on the show seven times before his death on March 14, was the subject of a tribute by The Big Bang Theory that was originally intended to air after the show’s season 11 finale on May 10 but was ultimately cut due to time constraints. In addition to cutting the Hawking tribute, another segment involving Sheldon receiving a call from his Meemaw was also cut from the finale episode.
