The process of painting an art piece is very complex; I would imagine the difficulties artist have in order to express themselves with a single painting. Using what I know I will attempt to critic art pieces that I had the opportunity to observe. I will express my feeling towards these paintings, and evaluate how the artist incorporated elements and principles of art in their paintings.
I had the opportunity to observe some of Lisa Manes-James's art paintings, and I have to say: not a single one appealed to me. In contrast, there were many I disliked, but there was one that disliked the most: Your Clock, Which are Always Ticking, Do Not Have to be Listened To left me perplex by the idea that I was supposed to view and think to myself "wow, know this is art." I don’t intend to disrespect Mrs. Manes-James work, but this painting is one of the worst paintings I have ever seen. The painting looks as thought it was accidently left out in rain, and now the figures that were once there are all gone. Even though I despise this painting, for its physical appearance, I'm still impressed by the idea behind it and what motivated her to paint it. What inspired her to paint were a group of flowers that were blooming too early in the years to what she was normally used to seen. Wendy Lewis's Rice Bowl-China Alley is a painting that consists of which appears to be a Chinese restaurant located on the corner where two roads intersect. The two roads can be seen in front on the blue restaurant. Behind the building, is a tree, but not an ordinary, a tree that leaves consist of not a lot of leaves, but a few large leaves. What I loved about this painting was the beautiful landscape. The landscape consists of a beautiful red sky and some areas been purple. A mountain is also visible on the right comer of the
