The Story “A Good Man Is hard to Find” circles around our beliefs and faith. The Theme of the story is the struggle between two oppositions despite similarities in their characters and faith. It is all about good vs. evil and religious beliefs. In spite of their ungodliness and shortcomings, it is believed by Christians that God is the ultimate judge of all; it is he who forgives sins and grants his servants permission to enter his kingdom. The story presents Grandmother as the Good person and the Misfit as the bad person. At the beginning of the story it was clearly stated the Grandmother had suggested not going to Florida because she wanted to go to Tennessee to see some old friends. At this point in the story, she had already exhibited her moral flaws and had shown that she wasn’t a trustworthy person. And like grandmother, the misfit also had his own moral flaws, despite murdering is father, he later denied it by comparing himself with Jesus. The similarities of the moral weakness shown by both Grandmother (good person) and that Misfit (bad person) proved that a good man is definitely hard to find. According to the Christian faith in we they both believed, they were short of Gods grace because they were both sinners. Christians theology also states that all sin is a form of disobedience to God and that no sin is greater than the other. Flanner O’Connor wrote the story in the Third Person Narrative point of view. The story is mostly told using noun, pronoun and narratives between characters. She used pronouns such as, he, she, his, and her and occasionally used the name of the characters to specify details. For example, she wrote using both the noun and pronoun in these two sentences, “Bailey was the son she lived with, her only son. He was sitting at the edge of his chair at the table, bent over the orange sports section of the Journal.” (page#) She used the name to specify who she was talking about and the pronoun “he” to reveal details about the
