The book “ A Long Walk to Water” by Linda Sue Park has some Real characters and then there is some fictional characters. It takes place in Southern Sudan a place battered with war. There is this boy who lives in the village named after his grandpa and the war comes to his village he is forced to flee the rest of the story is about his hard and long journey to safety.A personal journey is a journey where you are on a long adventure and you always seem to feel alone or working through things by yourself.
These pieces of text evidence both have to do with my thesis because in both he feels so alone. I have many different pieces to support for my thesis so here is one “ A Long Walk to Water” by Linda Sue Park it was on page 15. On that page the author states “I would not have been any trouble - I would not have complained!...What will I do now?” This was at the time where he had escaped from his village and met a group they took him with them when they stopped at a barn for shelter overnight. When he woke up they were not there this caused him not to not know what today he was alone figuratively and literally. My second piece of evidence for my thesis is in chapter 12 page 72. Salva has felt alone in many different times and including when he lost his family, Uncle ,and Marial. He also at many points felt like he was the only one trying through losing his family, moving from group to group and not getting any help except Marial and uncle. My thesis was a personal journey is a journey where you are on a long adventure and you always seem to feel alone or working through by yourself, like in long walk to water when Salva so many times finds himself lonely and he feels like he is the only one no one is helping.
