To start Lord of the Flies, a plane crash occurred. This plane crash was due to a raging war. On the plane was British school boys. Two of the school boys were Ralph and Piggy. While wandering the beach they find a conch shell. The boys figured out that this shell is like whistle or horn. Ralph blows the horn to see if there is any other boys on the island. Piggy and Ralph are soon accompanied by more boys. Among them a school choir, toddlers and also some kids ages between 6-8. All the boys realize they need to determine a leader or chief as they say. Mostly everyone voted for Ralph since he held the conch. Jack Merridew, leader of the choir, wanted himself as chief; however Ralph won the position. Ralph declares there needs to be a signal fire going at all times incase a ship in the ocean were to be going by the island. They finally achieve fire using Piggy’s specs, glasses. One night when the fire was burning, the two on guard to watch the fire did not do their job. The fire burned most of the forest. After this the chaos begins. One day Ralph and Piggy notice the signal fire was out. Angrily, Ralph confronts the hunters, in charge of the fire. He calls an assembly, him blowing the conch. Jack tries to convince the other boys that they are not getting off the island and they need to hunt to survive. Ralph furious at Jack, explains that they have a chance at leaving this island. Now Jack calls Ralph a coward. Jack is now declaring himself chief of a new tribe. Jack says this new tribe is going to be a tribe full hunters and savages. That night the new tribe, Savages, had a hunt and brought back a sow. They had a huge feast. Simon, who has been dreaming by the old signal, went to the feast to tell him he discovery of the beast. While Simon comes out of the vegetation, Jack kills the unknown figure. Ralph and Piggy realized it was Simon and went back to their end of the
