Written by William Shakespeare, A Mid-summer Nights Dream, is a story about four young people in love who do to circumstances can’t be with whom they choose. In a way to be together they flee to the forest filled with magic and mischief. After facing many trials they become more united as lovers and as friends and in the end get a magic end to their love story. Hermia is a young upper-class girl from Athens who has fallen in love with a boy named Lysander. Though their love is not meant to be for her father wants her wed to Demitri another young boy. Though she argues and pleads to her father to allow her to marry Lysander who is a part of the same social status her father will not have it. In an attempt to be together they flee into the woods in hopes to be together forever. Though they made a fatal mistake by telling her friend Helena who is in love with Dimitri. In a way to win Dimitri’s heart she tells him not to bother looking for Hermia because she has left with Lysander, but this only enrages him and pushes him to follow after her. After Puck had used a potion that had made both guys fall in love with Helena, Hermia becomes jealous while Helena thinks they are all playing a cruel prank. In this scene she becomes quite defensive after having been called short by her best friend Helena. Hurt and uncertain about what is going on all Hermia can do is call out to Lysander for help, but to no answer because he is now in love with Helena because of the potion.
