Mister Jonathon Swift, writer of the satire story “A Modest Proposal, has made the cure to poverty and the economic crisis Ireland is. In his proposal, which I say is very extreme, he says that little ones or babies, should be eaten or sold to solve the problem. He also says that we could raise a baby for about 2 shillings in one year, and then turn around and sell the child for about 10 shillings, thus making a profit of roughly 8 shillings per child. He says that since the mothers who are the most poor are often having the most children, why not sell them to the rich and make a profit and feed the others. With this happening it would cause an end to the economic crisis, poverty, and the divorce rate would drop significantly.

When Swift proposes the eating of the babies, this goes against all Roman Catholic theology and basically diminishes it. This however is good, mostly because they are taking over our nation and our jobs. While yes, the idea of eating the babies is bad, think about the amount of live stock that we could replenish if everyone just eats a couple of their least favorite kids under the age of 1. If the live stock replenishes that means the market for it will go up, in return boosting the economy market overall. This would solve the economic crisis and eventually the poverty crisis in our beloved country of Ireland. …show more content…

With this proposal and the proposal Swift made in the paragraph above, think about the amount of population control this would have. Swift, while sounding a bit extreme, is actually a very nationalist man who wants to see the people of his beloved country grow and prosper, not fail and die in
