Conor and his grandmother’s relationship in A Monster’s Call by Patrick Ness is complicated. Connor’s grandmother is represented as a selfish,mean and a too proud person through Conor’s point of view. Conor’s grandmother is important in this novel, because she is the character Conor expresses his anger to. This helps the readers know the state Conor is in, which makes them feel bad for Conor.
