Growing up I was around my whole family who played all sorts of sports, but first of all was baseball. This meant that even from the time I was only one or two I was going to sporting events to watch my family play. My oldest sister was especially good at softball, she was so good she also played on the boys baseball team, she was better than most of them even. She was always very dominant in every sport she participated in no matter if she was going against girls or boys. This dominance was a character that was instilled on me whenever I became old enough to play sports, but I could never live up to my sisters’ level of success. We were tired of always losing every year. This was the year we would rally to change this failure of a season. My team had one last chance to finally make a change from failure, I had a chance to prove to my family that my team could have a team that was the best like my sister had with her teams. This chance was the final tournament at the end of the season that would determine that year’s champion. This tournament lasted a weekend and was a single loss elimination. My team had a pep talk before our first game, we told each other that this tournament is what would change everything. We started off the tournament well and won our first two games making it to the semi-finals. Our parents, my fellow teammates, even myself were all overjoyed that we would at least get third place in the league this year. Our opponent however changed our attitude, it was the jocks. That game was the hardest we as a team had ever played. We all ran faster and batted harder than we thought we ever could. We started out good and finished even better. We had beaten the team that was loaded with the best players. Everyone including my family were jumping with joy, we were going to the championship game. We got to the championship game and lost but it did not matter, my team had gotten over a slump of failures to finally get to the championship game.
