Introduction Every educator has a different view and educational philosophy, but the one thing that all educators should believe in is to be the best school counselor for his or her student body. As a school counselor, I believe being a team player is a quality a school counselor needs to have in order to be an excelling team leader. I know how important it is for me to work closely with my parents, administrators, students, and teachers in order to make a greater difference in the lives of the students. I have to work hard to be on the same accord as a school counselor with teachers in my school so that we may make decisions that are in each child’s best interest. I may not be in the classroom every day, but instilling extra values is very important especially if I am running a classroom guidance lesson. I am fortunate to be at a school that found instilling extra values in a student being important. Reflecting back on my childhood, I do not feel my school counselors had that effect on me, but currently, I pray I have a different effect on my students.
