A Player's Role In Court Decision Making

406 Words2 Pages
As a team, each teammate has a role to play. These roles play to the player’s strengths and their abilities. Whether their strength is hitting, blocking, setting, or passing, there is a certain spot for each person. These spots are necessary for the team to be effective.
On the court, there are six players to each team. The player’s positions are: outside hitter, middle hitter, rightside hitter, outside back, middle back, and setter. These positions determine the rotation of the team; so both outsides would be opposites, both middles are opposites, and the rightside hitter and setter are opposites. By calling the pairs “opposites” I mean the two reflect each other’s positions on the court. This helps with keeping everyone in the correct rotation.
