In Chicago in 1960 in this little one bedroom apartment there 6 people, but all have different dreams In the play A Raisin In The Sun Walter, Benetha, and Mama had dreams. Walter dream was to own a liquor store. Ruth dream was to raise her family. Mama dream was to get an new house. Some dreams came true some didn’t. One dream for all them that came true and to move into a better house. “So now money is life once upon a time freedom was life”. In the play raisin in the sun Ruth has only one simple dream and would be content to live out her life being moderately comfortable. Financial stresses proving to be trouble in Ruth marriage. Walter is incredibly dissatisfied and take it out all on her. “When the world get ugly enough a woman will do anything to protect her family. Ruth was going to get a abortion, but she ended up having the baby instead. “It bad when a man leaves his own house to find peace”. In the play raisin in the sun dream was to own a house with a garden and yard which Travis can play in. She was about 60 years old. Her husband big Walter was hard work, but was never able to fulfil his dreams. She dedicated her life to her children and struggles to instill her values in them. She takes pride in her kids like she plants far from perfect, but still there’s hope for them. Ruth dream is similar to Momma’s. Walter’s dream was to provide for his family like the rich people he drive work for do. Benetha was to become a doctor to save her race. All their dream are related because they all wanting to provide for one another. But they all had different ways to make that come
