Dreams can be hard to achieve and can require lots of motivation and persistence. In the story A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, Walter has a dream. He is a black man with a son and wife, and also has his sister and his mother. They aren’t the wealthiest but Walter works as a chauffeur. Walter sees the rich men from his job and he wants more money so him and his family can have an easier life. His dream is to open up a liquor store with his friends. Walter wants this liquor store to have more money for his family. It isn’t easy for him because he doesn’t have enough money to start. He is left with disappointment because when he was saving up money for the liquor store the money was stolen by his friend and was left betrayed.

To begin with, Walter has a dream of owning a liquor store with his friends. He wants a liquor store because he wants to have more money for his family. Walter is talking to his wife about wanting to own a liquor store “I got me a dream,” (Hansberry 1. 1). And Walter continues by saying “I got to change my life, I'm choking to death baby!” (Hansberry 1. 1).
