Gucci Gang” by Lil Pump. This song represents all of Jay Gatsby’s lifestyle. Gatsby life is full of partying, women, and fancy things. Although Mr. Gatsby is much too dignified to listen to this song, it represents how he lives his life. Lyrics like “Bought some red bottoms, cost hella Gs” (Lil Pump), and “Now Lil Pump fly a private jet” (Lil Pump) shows Lil Pump describing his lifestyle to the world. These actions are also comparable to the ones of Mr. Gatsby. He lives in the biggest house in New York, wears the nicest clothing (people touch his clothes and literally cry), drives the nicest cars, and parties with beautiful women. This correlates perfectly with the book because once Jay and Daisy meet for tea, she can tell he has a lot of money and she wants to be with him again. In the end of the song, Kanye raps “I don't care what none of y'all say, I still love her” (West). This correlates with how Mr. Gatsby has loved Daisy forever and will do anything to impress her and be with her. “Billionaire” by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars. This song has a strong connection with the theme of wealth and the American Dream in the Great Gatsby. It starts off with the main chorus, “I wanna be a billionaire so freakin' bad, Buy all of the things I never had” (McCoy). The desire to be wealthy is seen often throughout the book. An example of this is when they drive through the sad town to get to Manhattan and see all the people starting businesses trying to get their hustle going. These people all admire fancy things and want them for themselves. Everyone at Gatsby’s parties goes because they want to admire his wealth and experience it. “Mo Money Mo Problems” by The Notorious B.I.G. Theses lines correlate with the book perfectly, Mr. Gatsby has all the money he could ever need but he still doesn’t have everything he wants from life. The wife of his dreams is with another man, he has few friends, and is isolated from reality. He ends up dying with a lot of problems in his life that he never gets
