The writer used elements that were descriptive such as people's names, what they looked like, surroundings, and specific names. The author uses juxtaposition in his writing, to help contrast humorous reality with cartoons or made up things. Evidence to support these claims would be in the 7th paragraph. In the text the author uses a series of low level comedy that is easily understandable to the audience, which can make the story funnier if everyone gets it. The author also uses different perspectives and stories to give his essay or own story a unique humor that is diverse and humorous. Taken from my own personal experience while reading this story I can say that there was indeed a smile, a laugh, and a chuckle that came along with the stories.
