Disney Channel is the top children's channel for this generation and many generations before. This channel was launched over thirty years ago, but the Walt Disney corporation started in the 20’s making it something that every generation can relate with. It is a part of life as a child. If kids find entertainment, it’s generally from this corporation. Almost every kid in America has access to this channel. They find enjoyment in the shows, movies, and commercials it provides. It brings giggles, smiles, memories, education, and inspiration to their life. It’s a staple aspect of many kids’ memories. The first thing we all really examine and that sticks in our mind is the way the video relates young girls who are doing their passions directly to princesses that these young girls admire. As Merida from Brave shoots her bow and arrow, the next shot we see is a determined, young girl shooting her arrow perfectly on the bullseye. We see Tiana from Princess and the Frog kiss her dad’s picture with two fingers. Then, we see a dad from a distance send a kiss with two fingers to his daughter. We see a swimmer underwater doing a flip, before the flip even ends she becomes Ariel doing that flip. The list goes on and on. From swimming, dancing, and riding horses, to painting and swinging, this video relates young girls exactly to their role models. In doing this the video’s aim is that it doesn’t just show us that they can be alike, but to show the young girls that inside of them they already have the bravery of Merida, the ambition of Mulan, the go-getter spirit of Rapunzel, and Tiana’s perseverance. It shows us that in every girl and woman are the characteristics that are in our favorite Disney princess. With its upbeat tune, you get excited and have an urge to do something. It doesn’t make you sad or want to sit around. But instead, you are truly encouraged. The beat and words goes perfectly along with the images of girls and princesses that appear. When the song says “be astronauts” there is a girl dressed as an astronaut. When it says “be leaders, be believers” there is a young girl speaking to a crowd. The list goes on. It worked perfectly with the images. In doing this the second aim is that girls should feel inspired by the song as well as making the words sink into their minds. Have the young girls truly feel like they can be whatever they dream of and that they have inside them the strength to do it. That they can do it for themselves and they can do it for others. They can be whatever they choose, no matter what the world tells
