The novel “A Room With A View”, written by E.M. Forster, is about a young lady who is trying to find herself and love. The book is split into two parts. The setting of the first half takes place in Italy; where Lucy and her cousin Miss. Bartlett travel and meet many new and interesting people. The second half is based in England on Summer Street, which is the street where Lucy lives with her mom and younger brother. E.M. Forster uses the two opposing settings to compare and contrast the life Lucy wants to live and the life she is expected to live. Even though, while in Italy, Lucy's cousin, Miss. While she was there she met a young man, George Emerson, and his father, Mr. Emerson, who Lucy was fairly fond of, but her cousin was not. Lucy and George had first acquainted very briefly while she was speaking with his father on a tour of an old building (pg. 22). As the story goes on it shows more instances where Lucy and George end up being together (pg. 33), leading up to the moment they kissed (pg. 55). Miss.
