Throughout the entire book, A Single Shard, the characters were constantly changing. After reading much about Min, the master potter, the reader finds from the beginning he was stoic and insensitive. While Min interacted with Tree-ear, the reader learned Min lacked the ability to allow himself to have emotional connections with Tree-ear. During his time with Tree-ear, Min began to change for the better. For example, Min had a subtle change from not showing emotions to allowing himself to reveal glimpses of his feelings.
