1) A Sound of Thunder
The main theme in A Sound of Thunder was the Butterfly Effect. It showed how one small problem could lead to much bigger problems. Eckel goes back in time to go hunt dinosaurs but when u time travel, you're not suppose to touch anything or else it can change present time. Eckel ends up stepping out of the trail and steps on a butterfly in the past. It changed the whole present life when they got back. The president became a dictator and the language changed. Travis thought the only thing that could help now was to kill Eckel. Travis ended up shooting Eckel and killing him.

Two examples of figurative language used in the novel were irony and satire. irony is a huge part of the story which is what makes the plot so interesting. an example of this is used in the story to show dictatorship and communism, "no animal shall sleep" becomes "no animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets." Stephen King says that we all enjoy horror movies even if some of us don't like horror. The author give important quotes that provide the important message in the story. “I think that we’re all mentally ill; those of us outside the asylums only hid is better, and maybe not all that much better, after all.” The main idea is that everybody has some type of instantly inside them. King believes that we are all crazy and violence allows us to imagine sick things which is what we secretly crave. Everyone shares a bind together which inv over love, positivity and peace.
