Good Morning fellow graduates, faculty, family, and friends. I would like to welcome you to the Spring 2024 commencement for the Mary Frances Early College of Education. Thank you for joining us today to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of the class of 2024! I would first like to thank my wonderful family who helped guide me through this journey. I would like to extend extra gratitude to my mother, who would always listen to my wild student teaching stories (like when I was in charge of entertaining 30 rambunctious pre-k students on a rainy day and truly contemplated my career choice), who would give me advice when I became overwhelmed with assignments, and most of all sacrificed so much so that I could continue my education and pursue my …show more content…

I also would like to thank all of the faculty and staff who have educated me on all things teaching. While I may not have always been enthusiastic about the papers and 15 page lesson plans, I have grown my knowledge and feel well equipped to step into the classroom due to their expertise. I would also like to thank the College of Education Ambassador program, for giving me an outlet to become involved with this college and create many professional and personal connections. Lastly, I would like to thank every mentor, teacher and student I have had while in the elementary education program. Being out in the field has taught me way more than just how to be a teacher. These kids have shown me how to appreciate life and the little things. They have shown me how to let things just roll off my back and be calm, even if it is difficult to do so. Many of these kids are stronger than I think I could ever be, and I wish they realized just how much they inspired me. When I look at the group of graduates before me, I am in awe when I think of the perseverance and strength we
