The main character of the book who throws around all the emotions would be “Amari” or “Myna”, a 15 year old African girl who was pushed out of her home and forced into slavery, as some people in the book called her. The book brings around two emotions that set the tone for the entire book all the way up till the ending. Those two feelings are happiness and the overwhelming feeling of sadness throughout the book.
