No matter how civilized a human is every human has an animal inside of them that comes out with their actions, emotions and words. What differentiates Humans and animals is that humans are civil and animals are not. In “ A Very old man with enormous wings” and “ The Interlopers” The authors are arguing how violence and hatred turns humans a human without them realizing it.

This shows that humans don't recognize what they are doing is uncivilized. for example they just stared at him waiting for him to move. This also shows the way that they were throwing things at him like it was a circus animal means humans have no respect for other for others.
