Respect is also shown by the way the characters interact with each other and the current main event being racial inequality. Firstly, what you reap is what you sow. Meaning, by showing respect you most likely will receive respect in return. One main example of this in TKAM is how Atticus treats everyone in Maycomb county regardless of their race, profession, or social status.
Respect is a big part of our lives still. Although the presence of many of the virtuous Native American values is very meager today, this one still exists as a miniscule glimmer across our lives. One must have respect for others to first have respect for themselves. You make a choice of how people will see you: as a incorrigible person, or as a respectful person. People will usually treat you accordingly.
My Responsibility to America by Brett Rosendahl I feel like I have many responsibilities to others and America. Looking out for friends and family is one of them. Being a good role model is another. Being a good person in general to other people is my third responsibility. I think that you really never stop having responsibilities, you just get more as you grow older.
Let America Be What Could Be America has never had a definite shape or form in regards to its identity, if ever it had one it was merely a construct. The American values that are constantly contradicts the realities of today. The overly patriotic America is too arrogant to willingly specify its imperfections and remedy them. In Langston Hughes’ “Let America be America Again”, Hughes exposes America’s flaws; he sheds light on the dark America that is of today regarding inequality, racism, and other injustices.
Respect is a word that has a lot of depth to it no matter what way you use it. The word by definition is kind of hard to pin down concretely because it is subjective, and it can be used in many different ways with many different meanings based on the usage. It is a word that everybody wants a piece of no matter how big or small the piece they get is. All definitions aside, the respect that most people want is the respect that is earned by the showing of honorable actions or personality characteristics. Be it dedication and sacrifices for one’s job or ones moral and ethical views and principles.
Being aware of one’s history has many more advantages than just knowing how to avoid repeating it. It also gives people hope. The question that now arises is what is this hope. This hope cannot be realized without first knowing what the Founding Fathers hoped that America would be. Founders like John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington had the hope that America would become the greatest nation the world had ever known.
Hell on earth has been redefined for many. Some may perceive it as a typical annoyance, however others may see it as literal torture in scenarios such as the Holocaust. In the Buchenwald concentration camp that Elie Wiesel attended, he encountered the first American soldiers. To them, perceiving just a glimpse of how the Jews were living was enough to make them bewildered and unable to comprehend what was going on. To them, it was unknown as to what to do or what to say.
My Vision For America Apple Pie, Baseball, and the American Flag might be some of the unique and diverse answers you would get if you were to ask a group of people what they imagine when they hear the word America. If you were to ask a 45 year old what they imagine when they hear the word America his answer would contrast from a 7 year old 's answer and an 18 year old 's answer would be different from a 65 year old 's. All of these are visions of America, the topic of this essay. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will be receiving many disparate visions of America from students all over the country and each and every student has an equal opportunity to achieve educational scholarships no matter race, gender, or sexual preference. This is my vision for America, equality for all. Equality is a very critical issue in America today.
Another way to successfully respect the rights of others is to accept their differences. For the outspoken citizens who
We cannot respect a person unless we also accept them. The teachings of Jesus focus on acceptance of all people no matter their appearance or situation. “Love one another, as I have loved you,” (John 15:12-13) is the embodiment of Jesus’ message of social justice for all peoples and is often quoted when explaining the church’s point of view on social justice. Islam however does not share this acceptance of all people especially those of other faiths as highlighted in this text from the Quran: “And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them.” The believers of this faith are taught to reject people of differing beliefs and treat them in a socially unjust
My Vision of America My vision for America is that people will to stop disrespecting this country. They don’t care about the values this country stands for. This country has been through a lot, and people do not care about the struggles this country has gone through anymore. There have been thousands of people killed to keep this country value of freedom.
America, the land of the free, does this reign true after the years of war and amendments to the Constitution that have been implemented? Our nation has gone through so many changes. Is there even a resemblance to the original system the framers of the Constitution envisioned? The majority of the Constitution has remained constant over the years, and those changes that have been made were for the amelioration of the country.
Respect should always be present as we practice freedom. We can choose what we want but we cannot choose our consequences of what we chose. Freedom must be with limits the same goes to boys and girls. Boys are free to do what they want but once that it harms other people, it is not right anymore. Furthermore, freedom is inevitable and is always present in
The belief of respect is important that managers, supervisors, employees at the organization also reflect organization’s culture and manner. I realized that respect others is an effective way to improve my own quality and it requires me to respect others’ achievement and custom. Therefore, respect is my basic quality and I have to be patient with each employee although I am a leader in the future career. 4.2 Examining Political, Cultural and Social Realities Power is defined as a capacity that the behavior of A has to be affected and act according to B’s wishes (Robbins et al., 2010).
Respect is an important life skill needed to coexist with others in our current society. Whether it’s in elementary school or high school, we’ve always been taught to treat each other with respect. Here at JFK, our motto is “respect is the key to success”. The word respect, in my opinion, means to treat each other equally despite their difference in opinions, race, gender, or any other aspect that could skew your opinion on who someone is. I agree with the school motto, however, it doesn’t hold true in our school and can definitely be improved upon.
