Visual Analysis Kenwood Chef is trying to convey the various consumers to buy their brand named mixer. They use their product, food details, text, and a happy couple in their advertisement in order to engage the buyer. The text, “The Chef does everything but cook- that’s what wives are for!”, is clearly sexist towards all women since it conveys that men should not cook since women do all the cooking. This ad uses very good tactics in order to engage the consumer into purchasing this product by using detailed surroundings around the product, a smiling couple, and including text within the ad. In order to target the audience, the manufacturer includes a happy couple behind their product. They try to convince the consumer that they will be happier with the purchase of the product just like the models that are being portrayed in the ad. The ad targets the audience by including text that says ” The Chef does everything but cook- that’s what wives are for!”. This text tries to influence and encourage men, in particular, to purchase this product for their wives. One of the components of this ad consists of the sexist tone it uses to convey male buyers into buying the product. It is pretty sexist in general since it mentions in the text that wives are meant to cook for their husbands. They make the female model wear a chef hat in order to emphasize that women are the chefs rather than the males. At a glance, the consumer can rapidly see the product that the manufacturer is promoting.They try to emphasize the product by placing it in the middle of the ad so that it’s the first thing that the consumer sees when they’re first looking at this ad. Once the consumer makes their way around the product, counterclockwise, on the top left-hand corner a text can be seen.
