AICPA Legacy Scholarship Application Short Responses
Please answer each of the following questions to be considered for an AICPA Legacy Scholarship. Each response must have a minimum of 100 words and a maximum of 250 to be eligible for review.
1) Why are you interested in becoming a CPA, and how will it impact your career?
If someone asks me “Why do you choose audit as your career?” I can simply answer because I want to be a hero. In my opinion, an auditor is a dark knight that saves the world secretly and silently. An auditor has to commit to do his job professionally as well as ethically. Therefore, beginning next semester, I will be a junior student at one of the most reputable universities for business major, especially Accounting. Even though it may take me two more years to finish, I will be able to accomplish my first goal, which is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. At CSUF, because they offer many accounting and business coursework that are required to sit for the CPA exam, once I graduate from CSUF, I will be able to fulfill a unit-coursework requirement for the CPA exam. Thus, I may not need to pursue an advanced degree to meet the unit requirement. As a result, instead of spending more time on an advanced program, I can actually study for the CPA exam. Honestly, I hope that my family’s financial will be stable enough so that I can stay focus on my studying. My family came here in the United States three years ago, and since then, we have been through a lot of difficulties due to our financial status. However, we have never given up, and we have always tried harder and harder to achieve our goals. Now, I am hoping that within the next 4 years, I will be able to graduate from the University and pass the CPA
