AIDS CONSPIRACY
Most people today believe that HIV and AIDS originated in Africa ("Acquired immune deficiency syndrome: biological, medical, social, and legal issues”). However, no one really knows where the virus originated from. Thousands of conspiracy theories are mixed everyday making shocking claims about anything. Examining the first cases, the first outbreak, and many other important factors in the history of AIDS, many different possibilities have been proposed regarding the origin of the disease (“The Politics of Conspiracy Theories”). Some people believe that it was the U.S. Government who created aids. According to this conspiracy theory, the U.S. Government created AIDS to eradicate homosexuals and black people because these two …show more content…

IT can only spread between humans when high concentrations of the virus get into the blood, which means we won’t get HIV just by coming into contact with the virus. HIV can only enter the body through an open cut or through contact with the mucous membranes in the anus, rectum, genitals, mouth, and eyes (“Teaching AIDS”). HIV cannot spread through saliva, tears, sweat, feces, or urine because none of these fluids contain a high enough concentration of the virus. The virus can only be found in high enough concentration in specific bodily fluids: blood, semen, pre-seminal fluid, and vaginal secretions. He said that it is possible to create a new infectious organism for $10 million within five to ten years. Most important of these is that it might be refractory to the immunological and the therapeutic processes upon which we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious disease", MacArthur said (“Understanding the origins and prevalence of AIDS conspiracy beliefs in the United States and South Africa”). He wanted to create a germ that could destroy the immune system. His purpose in doing so was he was claiming that the Soviet Union could develop an immune system-killing germ and use it against the U.S. He believed the U.S could be prepared if he could develop such a germ himself if the Soviet Union developed it as Cold War bio-warfare tactic against the U.S. In the end, in 1977-8, at the tail of MacArthur's experiment, the first AIDS cases began to
