I would first like to thank you for taking the time to read and review my final portfolio.
The main intention for this portfolio and, in essence, each of the papers I wrote during the course of this school year, is to be informative, while eye-catching; intent on keeping the reader’s interest while educating them on the subject and, in turn, my own opinion. I am an avid writer and reader, so I believe that it is important for the author’s own voice shine through their words, which I try to do with everything I write. Included are all of the papers I have written over the course of this school year as well as their drafts, all of the handouts that helped my writing improve, and a paper showcasing my writing ability for another subject. The focus of this course was to not only develop me into a full-fledged college writer, but to stress the importance on utilizing the various types of paper formats, from MLA to APA, annotated and not, etc. It was here that I was able to practice more on my APA writing, which I would later find to enjoy more than MLA writing because I find the format to be so much easier to write with than MLA. And the documentation process was so much easier. I also learned better time management in accordance to researching a topic, as well as how to deduce what would aid me the most in whatever piece I was writing. Over the second semester, I wrote a total of five papers as opposed to the three from first semester, where it was required of me to learn and try some new things. The work I did in this semester, while being the most strenuous, was really beneficial in the writing I will be doing in college next school year, and beyond that.
