Abuse and violence never solves anything. Animal abuse is a very serious problem in today's world. The ASPCA is an organization that is against animal abuse, its acronym stands for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The organization is very known for their long, sad, and emotional commercial. Throughout the commercial, it contains the three rhetorical appeals: ethos, logos, and pathos. To start off, the first rhetorical appeal embraced in the commercial is ethos. Sarah McLachlan is a famous Canadian singer that is featured in the ASPCA commercial. Her song, “Angel”, is played at the start of the commercial and makes the viewer feel sorrow for the animal that’s been through abuse. More credibility is established
