Aaron Hernandez guilty of murder in the death of Odin Lloyd On Wednesday former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was convicted of first-degree murder of his onetime friend Odin Lloyd. The prosecutors did their job thoroughly, providing 130 witnesses to build their case against Hernandez while the defendants barely scrounged up enough witnesses to cover one day of the three-month trial. After 35 hours of deliberating and meticulously going over key pieces of evidence jurors presented their conclusion to the rest of the courtroom. Guilty. Judge Susan Garsh followed up the decision of the jurors by giving Aaron Hernandez a life sentence without the possibility of parole. I strongly feel that Hernandez is not the cause of Lloyd’s death because of the lack of sufficient and credible evidence. I of course wasn't present at the trial nor the testimonies, but from what has been provided by multiple media sources who were present at the trial reasonable and more sound conclusions can be achieved. First off, there is no time stamp on when the presumed acts were committed by Hernandez. If officials were able to deem when the homicide supposedly occurred the alibi presented to the courts by not only Hernandez, but New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft may be considered as plausible and could verify that the defendant was not present at the time of the crime that he was incarcerated for. Additionally, the prosecutors showed Hernandez holding a “.45-caliber handgun.” I’m no expert, but I find it hard to believe that the caliber of a gun can be identified by a grainy black and white image that only shows a third of the gun. Even if Aaron Hernandez’s handgun was registered in a database how can prosecutors link the bullets found in Odin’s corpse to the weapon that Aaron Hernandez was seen carrying, let alone a firearm that has yet to be found? But as for the decision of the jury, Hernandez will have to suffer the consequences. All in all it’s a tragedy that Odin Lloyd died in as a result of the multiple gunshot wounds inflicted upon him on the night of June
