The problem in The Crucible by Arthur Miller is that there’s witchcraft going on in Salem, Massachusetts 1692. The cause of the problem was by Abigail Williams, who started making lies and fearing a group of girls to makes lies with her. If the problem doesn’t get fixed then eventually everyone dies. “It is a lie, sir” (Miller 46). Since Abigail was lying there were innocent lives taken and got hung. More and more people were dying because of false accusations that Abigail and the group of girls who were following Abigails step. The group of girls didn’t want to get in trouble so therefore, there lying to protect themselves. The problem affects everyone in Salem because people are being accused for things that didn’t happen, that causes death.
