Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) President Franklin D. Roosevelt was one of the most important figures of the 20th century and the most accomplished leader since Abraham Lincoln. President Roosevelt has been recognized as implementing the foundation to make America into a “Superpower” (U.S.News.com). Commonly referred to as FDR, President Roosevelt is the only United States President to serve three terms; giving him a total of twelve years in office. Born January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York as Franklin Delano Roosevelt, to James and Sara Roosevelt; life began as one would call “The Privileged Life” (H.W. Brands).
