Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Rural Kentucky. His father was Thomas Lincoln. He passed away on January 7,1851. His mother was Nancy Lincoln October 5, 1818. He grew up very poor.There for, Lincoln had to drop out of school to help his family, but even though he did not get a full education, he still strived to learn. He read a lot to strengthen his vocabulary.
Lincoln became our sixest president of the United States, but he had many other jobs before becoming president some of those jobs were,stint of a a general store owner,postmaster,a county surveyor, and a lawyer.On January 1,1836, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation abolishing slavery. They had four children together. They were William Wallace Lincoln, Robert Todd Lincoln, Tad Lincoln, Edward Barker Lincoln. Mary Todd Lincoln pasted on July 16, 1882. She collapsed at her sister’s house. She went into a coma and then died the same day at the age of sixty three. As for his kids, the second passed away at the age of sixteen from blood poisoning. William Wallace was Abraham’s third son, and he died February 20,1862 in Washington. Tad Lincoln was the youngest of the three. He passed away on July 15, 1871, in Chicago. Robert Todd Lincoln died on July 26,1926 in Manchester.
Some of Lincoln's accomplishments included making it possible for black soldiers to fight for the Union. Lincoln highly supported the Third Amendment that ended slavery in the United States. Lincoln made a decision to fight to prevent our country from falling apart. Lincoln also was a Commander in Chief during the Civil War which restored our nation as one. Lincoln signed the Home Act, the Morrill Act, and the National Banking Act. He also signed the bill that started the first transcontinental
